Pay-per-view bouts - included Joey Styles on commentary; featured the announcement that Heatwave 98 would be held Aug. 2 in Indianapolis at the Convention Center; included footage from before the live broadcast of Styles introducing local wrestling legends and bringing them out to the ring - the Junkyard Dog, Dick Slater, the Masked Superstar, and Bob Armstrong (noted for defeating Skandar Akbar at the first card at the venue) (JYD's last wrestling appearance before his death June 2); featured an in-ring promo by ECW World Champion Shane Douglas in which he called out those with guaranteed contracts getting paid for sitting at home with injuries, mentioned the night Shawn Michaels was too hurt to wrestle him, and said the WWF IC title meant "shit;" Douglas then cut a promo on "Dick Flair" before mentioning Douglas' several injuries he was wrestling through and said he would still be competing later in the night because it could be the last match of his career; moments later, Taz interrupted, said he was the uncrowned ECW World Champion, and said he was ruining the show because he wouldn't be going anywhere until Douglas handed him the title belt like Michaels did to him; Taz then attacked Douglas and locked him in a submission hold until security pulled him off, handcuffed him, and escorted him down the aisle, at which time Taz and Bam Bam Bigelow began brawling around ringside; moments later, Taz was handcuffed, led through the crowd by security, and ejected as Bigelow, Chris Candido, & Francine checked on Douglas - spitting up blood - in the ring; Taz was then put in the back of a car and driven away but not before he kicked out the backseat window; included a pre-taped backstage promo by Bill Alphonso in which he said he would manage both Sabu and Rob Van Dam for their match later in the show; featured a backstage promo by Douglas in which he commented on his injuries and his match later in the night against Al Snow; included a video package highlighting Douglas' career in ECW; featured a backstage promo by Snow regarding his own career and his upcoming match against Douglas:

Justin Credible (w/ Jason & Chastity) pinned Mikey Whipwreck at 9:53 with That's Incredible onto a steel chair after reversing Whipwreck's attempt at a tombstone on the chair
ECW Tag Team Champions Chris Candido & Lance Storm defeated Balls Mahoney & Axl Rotten at 12:04 when Candido pinned Mahoney following a springboard dropkick by Storm - sending a steel chair into Mahoney's face - and Candido then hitting his partner with the chair before making the cover himself; prior to the match, Mahoney & Rotten interrupted Joey Styles at the broadcast booth and challenged the champions to an immediate title match; Candido originally appeared with Storm before going backstage to have his own entrance; during the ring introductions, Candido made the ring announcer announce his name first while introducing the champions; following a series of chops during the match, the crowd started a "Free Ric Flair" chant; late in the bout, Tammy Sytch appeared and distracted the challengers; after the match, Storm briefly fought with Candido in the aisle
