Pay-per-view bouts - included Joey Styles on commentary; featured the announcement that Heatwave 98 would be held Aug. 2 in Indianapolis at the Convention Center; included footage from before the live broadcast of Styles introducing local wrestling legends and bringing them out to the ring - the Junkyard Dog, Dick Slater, the Masked Superstar, and Bob Armstrong (noted for defeating Skandar Akbar at the first card at the venue) (JYD's last wrestling appearance before his death June 2); featured an in-ring promo by ECW World Champion Shane Douglas in which he called out those with guaranteed contracts getting paid for sitting at home with injuries, mentioned the night Shawn Michaels was too hurt to wrestle him, and said the WWF IC title meant "shit;" Douglas then cut a promo on "Dick Flair" before mentioning Douglas' several injuries he was wrestling through and said he would still be competing later in the night because it could be the last match of his career; moments later, Taz interrupted, said he was the uncrowned ECW World Champion, and said he was ruining the show because he wouldn't be going anywhere until Douglas handed him the title belt like Michaels did to him; Taz then attacked Douglas and locked him in a submission hold until security pulled him off, handcuffed him, and escorted him down the aisle, at which time Taz and Bam Bam Bigelow began brawling around ringside; moments later, Taz was handcuffed, led through the crowd by security, and ejected as Bigelow, Chris Candido, & Francine checked on Douglas - spitting up blood - in the ring; Taz was then put in the back of a car and driven away but not before he kicked out the backseat window; included a pre-taped backstage promo by Bill Alphonso in which he said he would manage both Sabu and Rob Van Dam for their match later in the show; featured a backstage promo by Douglas in which he commented on his injuries and his match later in the night against Al Snow; included a video package highlighting Douglas' career in ECW; featured a backstage promo by Snow regarding his own career and his upcoming match against Douglas:
Super Nova & the Blue Meanie defeated Little Guido & Tracey Smothers (w/ Tommy Rich) at 9:28 when Nova pinned Guido with the Novacaine; during the bout, the crowd chanted "Where's my pizza?" at the FBI
Justin Credible (w/ Jason & Chastity) pinned Mikey Whipwreck at 9:53 with That's Incredible onto a steel chair after reversing Whipwreck's attempt at a tombstone on the chair
ECW Tag Team Champions Chris Candido & Lance Storm defeated Balls Mahoney & Axl Rotten at 12:04 when Candido pinned Mahoney following a springboard dropkick by Storm - sending a steel chair into Mahoney's face - and Candido then hitting his partner with the chair before making the cover himself; prior to the match, Mahoney & Rotten interrupted Joey Styles at the broadcast booth and challenged the champions to an immediate title match; Candido originally appeared with Storm before going backstage to have his own entrance; during the ring introductions, Candido made the ring announcer announce his name first while introducing the champions; following a series of chops during the match, the crowd started a "Free Ric Flair" chant; late in the bout, Tammy Sytch appeared and distracted the challengers; after the match, Storm briefly fought with Candido in the aisle

Tommy Dreamer (w/ Beulah McGillicutty) & the Sandman defeated Buh Buh Ray & D-Von Dudley (w/ Joel Gertner, Big Dick & Sign Guy Dudley) at 11:19 when Sandman pinned D-Von and Dreamer pinned Buh Buh Ray following double DDTs; prior to the bout, a recap video highlighting the feud was shown to the tune of Mad Season's 'River of Deceit;' Sandman was fitted with a neckbrace and taken backstage on a stretcher after suffering an injury at the 3-minute mark; it was noted he went into the match with an injured neck; Spike Dudley became involved in the match at the 8-minute mark, becoming Dreamer's replacement partner; Sandman returned late in the match, wearing the neckbrace and armed with his Singapire cane

ECW World Champion Shane Douglas (w/ Francine) pinned Al Snow at 13:05 by rolling through a sunset flip off the top; Chris Candido and Bam Bam Bigelow appeared ringside at the 11-minute mark, with Snow easily fighting them off; the locker room surrounded ringside at the 12-minute mark, with Snow then hitting the Snow Plow on an interfering Francine; after the bout, the other wrestlers hoisted Snow and Douglas onto their shoulders, with the two men then shaking hands as the ring filled with styrofoam heads thrown into the ring by the crowd

Featured Joey Styles conducting an interview with ECW World Champion Shane Douglas, accompanied by Francine, Bam Bam Bigelow, & Chris Candido, in which Douglas discussed his recent victory over Al Snow when no one gave the injured champion a chance of keeping the title; moments later, FTW Champion Taz appeared and said he didn't come out to fight anyone but he wanted the rest of the Triple Threat to back up so he could talk one-on-one with Douglas; Taz then said he respected Douglas for what he did at Wrestlepalooza and took off his jacket to reveal a Triple Threat t-shirt underneath and said Douglas needed his help; Taz said he would protect Douglas but only if Douglas gave him a title shot when he was healthy; moments later, Taz was welcomed into the Triple Threat but then jumped Douglas and locked him in an armbar until Bigelow and Candido made the save; Taz then took down an ECW official and referee and locked them in the Tazmission before he was pulled out of the ring

Super Nova & the Blue Meanie fought Little Guido & Tracy Smothers (w/ Tommy Rich) to a no contest after a matter of seconds when Nova & Meanie were beaten and bloodied by several steel chair shots and the Italian flag; prior to the match, the FBI came to the ring to Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York" in tribute to Sinatra who died two days earlier; after the assault, Rich grabbed a mic and said the beating was in tribute to Sinatra and that he was the new chairman of the board; moments later, Balls Mahoney & Axl Rotten came out as a bloodied Meanie was helped backstage, with the FBI then attacking Balls & Axl and a match starting
Balls Mahoney & Axl Rotten defeated Little Guido & Tracy Smothers (w/ Tommy Rich) at 6:06 when Axl pinned Guido and Balls pinned Smothers following double chairshots to the head
Bam Bam Bigelow pinned Al Snow with the Greetings from Asbury Park at 7:13, moments after Snow stopped an interfering Chris Candido from stealing Head; Bigelow was heavily cheered and Snow booed during the match because Snow was leaving for the WWF
