Francine (w/ Tommy Dreamer) pinned Steve Corino in an impromptu match with a spinning DDT; the bout came about when Dreamer and Francine appeared for an in-ring promo, with Dreamer mentioning the WWF's King of the Ring and WCW's Bash at the Beach and saying ECW was setting the standard when it comes to pay-per-view wrestling; Dreamer then spoke of ECW's upcoming debut on TNN and thanked the fans for their continued support; just as Dreamer attempted to make an emotional announcement, Corino, Rhino, and Jack Victory appeared ringside with Corino announcing Dreamer needed back surgery and his career was over because of his hardcore wrestling style; Corino then insulted Dreamer for putting his body on the line to entertain the fans and then demanded Dreamer lay down and let Corino pin him to elevate his career; moments later, Corino attacked Dreamer with Dreamer fighting him off and Francine hitting a DDT for the pin; after the bout, Yoshihiro Tajiri appeared and laid out both Dreamer and Francine with kicks, with Victory and Rhino holding Francine and making her watch as Tajiri locked Dreamer in the Tarantula; moments later, ECW World Champion Taz appeared to make the save
